Doha: Planet Tec, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month, is poised for a major expansion in Qatar as it seeks to provide a wider range of genuine world class electronics products and spearhead the revival of premium electronics in the country.
Planet Tec is Qatar’s exclusive distributor of Hitachi range of consumer products including ‘Made in Japan’ products and the distributor of the Midea range of Residential Air Conditioners.
According to Planet Tec’s new General Manager, Mohammad Anis, the company is working towards becoming one of the major electronics retailers in Qatar.
He said the main showroom at Souq Thuraia on Salwa Road is set for a total revamp and renovation to showcase the store’s premium products and provide a complete customer-oriented shopping experience. The company also plans to set up more showrooms across Doha in the coming years.
Planet Tec, the sole and authorised distributor of the 110-year old Japanese Hitachi brand in Qatar, will also introduce a range of premium ‘Made in Japan’ Hitachi Home Appliances and Electronics for discerning customers with an eye for quality - a Middle East first.
Customers will be able to choose from a wide range of ‘Made in Japan’ Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Vacuum Cleaners, Microwave Ovens, Air Purifiers, and others, along with the re-launch of Hitachi Air Conditioners which has been looked forward to by its brand- loyal customers.
Planet Tec is also a distributor of Midea range of Room air conditioners which includes Portable ACs, Window ACs, Split ACs, Floor Standing ACs, Duct & Cassette AC as per the need to individual customers as well as to B2B consumers.
“Midea Aircons have grown 50 percent this year even with the current setback due to COVID-19, and is poised for further strengthening their market share in Qatar. Interestingly, the residents of Qatar should be very happy to learn that Planet Tec has now launched a range of Electronic Massage Chairs along with other Massage and Healthcare products from renowned OTO brand from Singapore. OTO has some of the most advanced Massage Chairs built from the ground up to respond to the demands of the modern world, blending traditional Eastern therapies with innovative Western technology for an unparalleled, unprecedented experience,” said Anis.
He added that Planet Tec is also poised to introduce other brands with products like Chest and Vertical Freezers, Built-in Appliances, Mobile & IT Accessories, and others.
“Planet Tec currently has a sprawling Logistics & Warehousing facility at Doha’s Industrial Area, but, considering the expected growth over the next few years, it will soon be shifted to a considerably larger facility. With the growing demand of Consumer base and its need of world class after sales service, the Service Centre will also move to a bigger, well-equipped and conveniently located facility in Industrial Area.
“A dynamic, interactive Planet Tec website is on the cards with a listing of all the brands and product categories. It is slated to evolve into a full-fledged e-commerce website immediately thereafter, which will prove to be extremely beneficial to current home-bound customers,” Anis added.
