Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani being welcomed on arrival at Kotoka International Airport by Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived last night in Accra, on an official visit to the Republic of Ghana. H H the Emir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon their arrival at Kotoka International Airport by Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Minister of Defence, Dominc Nitiwul; Minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery, and a number of their excellencies ministers and high-ranking officials as well as Qatar’s Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana H E Mohammed Jaber Al Kuwari, and Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to Qatar Emmanuel Enos.

Earlier, H H the Emir left Abidjan to conclude an official visit to the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire.
Bidding the Emir farewell upon departure from Abidjan International Airport were Ivorian Minister of Defence, Hamed Bakayoko; Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcel Amon Tanoh, a number of ranking officials, Cote d’Ivoire’s Ambassador to Qatar, Tory Vazoumana; and Qatar’s Charges D’affairs in Cote d’Ivoire, Shamsan Abdullah Al Sada.

The Emir sent a cable to President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, expressing deep gratitude and thanks for the welcome His Highness and the accompanying delegation were met with during the visit which allowed for exchanging views on regional developments of joint interest, and for discussing ways to enhance friendship and cooperation in all fields. The Emir also wished the President good health and happiness, and further progress and development for the people of Cote d’Ivoire.

On his arrival in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, H H the Emir tweeted: “I thank His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara for his hospitality. A successful visit and fruitful talks where a road map was developed to promote the historic relations between Côte d’Ivoire and Qatar in various fields, especially energy, investment and tourism, in the interests of our two peoples.”
A similar tweet was posted by H H the Emir after holding successful discussion with the President of Republic of Guinea, Professor Kundi, in which he said: “In the Republic of Guinea, in-depth discussions were held with President Alpha Kundi on ways to develop bilateral cooperation and friendship. During the visit, two agreements were signed in the fields of maritime transport, investment and several memorandums of understanding on food security, sports and others.”
President Ouattara lauded the first visit of His Highness the Emir to Côte d’Ivoire, expressing his pleasure for its great importance to both countries.
The Emir was presented with the “National Medal of Merit”, the highest medal of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire by President Ouattara, in a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.
