Shura Council Deputy Speaker meets visiting parliamentary officials

Doha: Deputy Speaker of Shura Council H E Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti yesterday met with several speakers of parliamentary councils and parliamentary officials, who are visiting the country to attend FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 events.

The meeting included Speaker of the House of Representatives of Djibouti H E Mohammed Ali Hamad, Vice-Speaker of the Moroccan House of Advisors H E Fouad Kadiri, Chief of Staff of the Speaker of the House of Advisors of Morocco H E Zakaria El Hanini, Secretary-General of Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union H E Fayez Al Shawabkeh and Secretary-General of the Moroccan House of Representatives H E Najib El Khadi. 

At the outset of the meeting, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed the guests of the country wishing them a pleasant stay, expressing her thanks for their participation in this global sporting demonstration, which among its numerous goals, seeks to bring the people together and deepen the bonds of fraternity and friendship.

The visiting officials expressed their pleasure in participating and their fascination and admiration for the tournament’s meticulous organisation, along with the preparations they witnessed on the ground to embrace the tournament, extending their thanks to Qatar's government and people for the warm welcome, good reception and generous hospitality, lauding the renaissance being witnessed by Qatar, wishing the country further success in this hosting.

During the meeting, they discussed a range of topics pertaining to the Arab parliamentary action and ways to strengthen parliamentary relations.

The meeting was attended by members of the Shura Council H E Badi bin Ali Al Badi, H E Ahmad bin Ebrahim Al Malki, H E Khalid bin Abas Al Emadi, H E Yousef bin Ahmed Al Sada, H E Mubarak bin Mohamed Al Kuwari, H E Nasser bin Metrif Al Hemeidi, and H E Nasser bin Hassan Al Kubaisi.
