259 entries for Scientific Excellence Awards

The Scientific Excellence Awards 2016 of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in its 10th edition, have received a total of 259 entries in eight award categories.
The organising committee said that the highest number of nominees have come from elementary schools with 133 entries — preparatory schools 22, and 21 entries from each of the high schools and university.
The committee has also received 17 entries for the 'outstanding teacher' award, 11 nominations from PhD holders and eight for the award of outstanding school.
The deadline for receiving applications was November 14. The judging committees have started assessment of the nominations. 
The committees will submit their final reports by the end of December this year.
The winner of the Gold and Platinum awards will be announced for each of the eight categories.
Scientific Excellence Awards 2016 is one of the most important events the country holds every year under the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, to honour outstanding students in Qatar with the highest scientific awards with the aim of encouraging educational institutions and students to exert more efforts and enhancing compatibility.
