DOHA: The authorities concerned have drawn up an extensive plan to tighten security in the Industrial Area which is home to thousands of low-income workers from different nationalities.
The Area comes under Al Rayan Public Security Department which has put in place plans to have security there in close cooperation with other government agencies.
The Director of Al Rayan Public Security Department, Brigadier Mohamed Saif Al Nuaimi, said that public security offices have already been set up in the Labour City in the Industrial Area.
He said that an awareness campaign is being launched among low-income workers about Qatari laws, customs and traditions so that they find it easier to adjust to local conditions. The brigadier said that his department is also launching inspection drives to catch workers who are violating Qatar’s laws.
In coordination with the Search and Follow-up Department and Al Faza, his department is actively involved in catching runaway workers, said the official.
