Annual meeting shapes new academic year with exceptional start: Al Ruwaili

Doha, Qatar: Assistant Undersecretary for Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili affirmed that the annual educational meeting 2023-2024, which was kicked off by the ministry at Qatar National Convention Centre, will exceptionally start to shape the features of the new academic year.

In special statements to QNA, Al Ruwaili said she is proud today as MoEHE is exceptionally starting the new academic year whose features are shaped by the educational meeting that highlighted the unprecedented efforts of the professionals at MoEHE on the track of empowerment and capacity building.

She recalled the achievement made by Tamheen programme and ‘Good Start’ Initiative in graduating new teachers to take on the mantle of the teaching profession, adding that the achievement and its impact are tremendous as MoEHE is graduating the fourth batch of Tamheen programme’s teachers which has evidently achieved the non-educational specialisations to embark on the teaching profession, while MoEHE simultaneously graduates the first batch of ‘Good Start’ Initiative’s teachers.

The initiative is primarily dedicated to supporting female graduates from the college of education at Qatar University (QU) in their first year to join the educational field.

Al Ruwaili said that the exhibition that follows the annual educational meeting has demonstrated the passion and ability of female teachers and unveiled groundbreaking innovations and creative techniques that will undoubtedly make a paradigm shift in the educational environment, where inspiration and trailblazing prevail.

She outlined that the projects showcased at the exhibition deserved all commendation from Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, along with the ministry’s leaderships, where every single project has been identified with its objectives and details to encourage female teachers and spur their confidence in the criticality of the achieved accomplishments, as well as teachers’ abilities to make change.

She pointed out that projects showcased at the exhibition are strikingly diverse with their outstanding objectives and laid out practices as some of them tackled the facilitation of calculations, in addition to combining games in education and undergirding technology with sciences, handling learning difficulties and supporting persons with special needs which give an apparent indicator for the inclusiveness and modernity of training being afforded to female teachers in this program.

Commenting on the panel discussions, Al Ruwaili pointed out that the discussions have essentially addressed career relations in the educational institutions and their impact on optimising educational outputs constituting a creative and trailblazing strategy that offered an opportunity for female teachers and welcomed them in the teaching profession to comprehend their thoughts.
