Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior announced that 25 individuals of Arab nationality were arrested for an altercation at a restaurant, in which unlawful conduct constituted an assault on the safety of individuals and property, as well as a breach of public security and order.
This action comes following a video that went viral on social media showing the incident.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the competent authorities have immediately initiated the necessary legal procedures in relation to the incident. "A total of 25 individuals of Arab nationality were arrested, and the required procedures have been completed in preparation for their referral to the Public Prosecution for further legal action," the Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry also urged all members of the public to comply with laws and regulations, act responsibly, and refrain from behavior that may disturb public order or compromise security and safety.
Separately, the Ministry emphasized that it will not tolerate any acts that violate the law, and will take strict legal action against anyone found to have engaged in conduct that threatens the safety and security of society.
