Grey Times, an exhibition encompassing the works of artists who participated in the fifth edition of the Fire Station’s annual Artist in Residence Programme (AIR5) is currently on view. The exhibition marks the end of AIR5, which centred on the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, characterised by uncertainty and unprecedented challenges.
Grey Times — curated by Dr. Bahaa Abudaya and Saida Ali Al Khulaifi — depicts how, in the wake of the pandemic, artists in the residency programme had to carry out their respective conceptual journeys in the confines of their homes rather than embarking on creative exploration in the Fire Station’s studio.
AIR is an annual initiative, established in 2015, that nurtures local talents including both Qataris and non-Qataris. Grey Times runs until 27th August at the Fire Station. For more information, please visit https://www.firestation.org.qa/
Opening hours for the Fire Station are 9am - 7pm Saturday through Thursdays and 1.30pm - 7pm on Fridays.
