SUN360, one of India’s leading solar energy solution providers, is looking at setting up assembly lines in Qatar’s free zone areas.
The company, which offers innovative and customised solutions for water heating, lighting and an array of solar energy products, is looking forward to manufacture the products in Qatar to supply local markets as well as exports to other countries in the Middle East and Africa region, said a top official of the company.
The Goa-based company provides energy efficient solutions to commercial entities and residential homes offering huge benefits, including huge savings on electricity bills and environment protection. It has a wide range of innovative and customized products, including off-grid and grid-tied solar power system, solar geysers, heat pumps, street lighting in remote areas, solar powered food trucks and others. The products are internationally certified and have attractive designs.
“We are a bespoke solar energy entity based in India’s western state of Goa. Our entire business model is focused on energy efficiency and cost effective solution. We have got three main product verticals solar power, heating and lighting. We manufacture heat pumps and hot water systems. We also install solar PV (photovoltaic) system,” Anish Sousa (pictured), CEO of SUN360, told The Peninsula.
Sousa, who was here to find a local business partner to set up the plant in Qatar, added: “Basically what we do is, we find an application and design and develop a customised solution for that. Currently we are operating in southern and western India, including Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
But we are also exporting our products to overseas markets mainly in the African continent.” He said that there is a massive surge in demand for such products which has enabled the company to register unrepresented growth. The number of clients increased three times in 2018 compared to previous year on the back of India ambitious target to achieve 150 gigawatt of solar power capacity by 2022.
“Wherever we are operating, we are doing business with the collaboration of local partners. In Qatar also we are looking for suitable local partners who can champion the solar energy cause. We intend to set up assembly lines in Qatar’s free zone where we can design and develop products that can fit the local requirements as well as can also cater to other regional markets,” he said.
“We got an overwhelming response and had some fruitful discussions with some local potential partners who have expressed their keen interests in the project. Once we have something concrete we will announce and share more detials,” said Sousa, who founded the company some seven years ago.
He also noted that within a short duration since its inception, the company has served more than 500 commercial entities, including some multinational companies such as Honeywell, Essar, Kirloskar, and prominent hospitality giants like Taj Group, LeMeridien, Hilton Hotels and Resorts among others.
