DOHA: Qatar and Ukraine to host joint cultural events, including Ukranian art films and organising a concert by musicians from Ukraine. The public screening of the Ukrainian film will be held here on June 13 at Katara theatre.
Ukraine's Ambassador to Qatar, Yevhen Mykytenko, today visited Katara Cultural Village and met with its Director General Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and discussed plans of hosting joint cultural events.
Ambassador Mykytenko thanked Dr Sulaiti and Katara for showcasing two exhibitions at Katara. Ukranian artist Andre Chernovil's 30 works and 'Children Are The Future', an exhibition of paintings by pupils of Kyiv Palace for Children and Youth were exhibited earlier this month.
Chernovil gifted to the Ukrainian Embassy in Doha his painting 'Meeting', which symbolizes friendly relations between Qatar and Ukrainian peoples, reports QNA.
Dr Sulaiti welcomed the Ambassador's proposals for organising joint cultural events between Ukraine and Qatar and assured him Katara would cooperate.
Sulaiti highlighted the importance of cultural events and art exhibitions that Katara hosts throughout the year. This spreads awareness and information on art and culture of various countries of the world to the public. Learning about other cultures and art expands people's knowledge, he added.
