Doha: Honda Motor Company launched the New 2021 CBR600RR for the Middle East region at a Virtual Launch Event held on their YouTube channel and across its distributor’s social media platforms.
The All New 2021 CBR600RR has taken the 600 Super Sport class to a different level. Honda has used their extensive experience and technology from Moto2 and MotoGP winning machines. We have been able to deliver one of our most advanced 600 machines with race inspired aerodynamics, Throttle By Wire (TBW) selectable rider modes, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) levels and IMU (5 axis IMU) controlled 2 channel cornering ABS to incapsulate “Total control” machine behavior.
Our engineers have developed technology that assists in bringing Joy to the rider and at the same time keeping you in safe hands. Throttle by Wire (TBW) allows the function of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) to suit riders experience and road conditions. The 5 axis Internal Measurement Unit (IMU) provides accurate information such as lean angle, pitch and yaw to precisely control the cornering, ABS, rear lift control and wheelie control. The rider can select various riding modes and other functions from the clear TFT color meter assembly.
The Moto2 inspired engine produces 119hp@14,000rpm and 63 Nm of torque @ 11,500rpm. Various updates have been applied to the engine, such as application of different materials for the camshaft, valve spring and crankshaft. The port of the cylinder head has been reshaped and the throttle bore diameter has been expanded. Also, the valve timing has been readjusted and Throttle by Wire (TBW) has been added.
The valve timing has been changed to increase the power output. The closing of the inlet valve has been put back by 5° while the opening of the exhaust has been moved up by 5° as well. This improves the intake efficiency of air-fuel mixture and exhaust of combustion gas.
The new engine power and torque curves are like the outgoing model. It’s perfect for the road and the track with a bit more power and torque at higher rpm. The Ram air duct is equivalent in size to the RC213V MotoGP race bike, similar to the new CBR1000RR Fireblade recently launched in this region.
This configuration charges the cylinders by forcing the air at a higher speed thereby improving power and torque. Throttle body ports are also optimized to increase intake of the air efficiency.
Assist and slipper clutch, ensures smooth power delivery on the road or track, and with an option of a “quick shifter” you will want to ride it everywhere.
The frame that provides feedback to the rider, has been developed from the racing technology. Twin tube structure made of hollow die-cast aluminum improves high speed stability under acceleration and braking as well as increased accuracy of high-speed steering.
This powerful brake system has continuously been equipped with the opposed-piston 4-pot callipers and 310mm double disc rotor in the front as well as the lightweight single pot callipers and 220mm disc rotor in the rear.
For the All New CBR600RR, the knowledge has been acquired through the development of the CBR1000RR-R which is infused with the aerodynamic performance technology used in the RC213V - a MotoGP machine. This technology has been reflected in the optimal form in the CBR600RR. Equipped with the aerodynamic performance and functional excellence in order to win. Its appearance is designed based upon the “mass centralization form”. In terms of styling it incorporates thorough aerodynamic performance technology fed back from the race scene.
In addition, the winglets contribute to improving the stability of the vehicle when entering a corner or turning while accelerating.
The aerodynamic performance technology cultivated from the race scene is reflected in the entire design. The front upper cowl has both improved wind-resistant performance and reduced running resistance. The winglets are tuned to optimize the motion characteristics of the All New CBR600RR. This contributes to agile handling and improved vehicle stability when entering a corner or turning while accelerating.
The fuel tank shelter is designed to support the rider with a sense of unity between the rider and the vehicle, arm fit during forward bending and hang-on, vehicle holding and operability when turning. The air outlet design of the middle and under cowls on each side has been optimized.
The All New CBR600RR is already available in respective country wise Honda Showrooms from end of February 2021.
