Doha: In keeping with the legacy of travel innovation and latest product and service offerings, Regency Travel & Tours (RTT), a fully owned subsidiary of Regency Group Holding, launched an online travel agency — www.myholidays.com on January 17.
It aims to address the evolving needs of travellers and render Regency’s award-winning service quality and product range on it.
The website is the fruit of research and development; integration of the best services and solutions and quality resource and technology deployment, and is the culmination of the vision and direction of Regency Group President Ibrahim Hassan Al Asmakh.
The group set up Discovery Software Technology firm last year to develop the website that combines the best-in-tech features and a user-friendly layout.
Regency Group Vice-President and the driving force behind the project, Hassan Al Asmakh, said, “The development of the website was our first large-scale venture into the software and technology sector. “We had to learn and grow as a group to bring the website to the market. Our aim is to establish it as a regional and global brand and strive to develop it to meet the growing demands of the online travel market.”
The launch aligns with the vision of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to create an empowered Qatari private sector; a stimulating business environment that encourages privately-owned Qatari businesses to think and go global. The development of the website, designed on a par with global standards, compliments the core objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, whose one of the pillars is to propel the country forward to achieve sustainable economic development.
RTT CEO Tareq Abdullatif Taha said, “Venturing into the online travel market was the next logical step for us. The idea of translating our success as brick and mortar model into the world wide web, amalgamating our access to special rates with the high quality customer service we are known for, and offering a quality travel platform is what inspired us to build the website for today’s tech-savvy and discerning travellers; a platform that will serve diverse travel needs by offering a wide range of products and top-notch service.”
Taha said, “A team of IT professionals was lead by Discovery Software & Technology and supported by RTT experts, which paved the way for a record development time of eight months with minimal rework, but plenty of hard work and dedication.”
The website has been built using latest technologies. Its unique features include the built-in customer relationship management tool to serve customers in a quick and effective manner, a ‘share’ button that notifies the price of air tickets and hotel rooms to customers via SMS, email and social media channels, and ‘Express Booking’ that enables customers to buy air tickets and hotel rooms with a single click.
It also lists flight route maps, ratings and reviews of hotels, which enables customers to take an informed decision while booking their travel.
Attention was paid to the data security aspect to ensure secure and fraud-proof transactions. The advanced fraud detection system and a highly secure payment gateway ensure that payments are processed securely, guaranteeing peace of mind to customers.
