Doha: Dr Abdullah Al Kubaisi, the former president of Qatar University, a 79-year-ols Qatari citizen, is the first person to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid 19 vaccine in Qatar at around 8:45am.
The first phase of the vaccination began this morning at seven designated health centres in the country.
Al Wajbah Health Centre witnessed the first batch of elderly people administered with Covid-19 vaccination.
The first shipment of Covid-19 vaccines arrived in the country on Monday and health officials had confirmed that priority will be given to patients who have severe chronic diseases, adults in chronic care, those over 70-year-old, and healthcare personnel most at risk of infection.
