Qatar farms showcase their agri produce at Katara

Doha: The second edition of Mahaseel Festival organized by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) began Saturday in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and the Environment and the participation of 22 Qatari farms and 6 national companies in the field of food production.

The opening ceremony of Mahaseel (Cropswas attended by Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, farmers and participating Qatari companies and a large number of visitors.

Dr. Al-Sulaiti said in a press statement that the festival is one of the most important festivals launched by Katara. It has become an important marketing platform for farmers, companies and consumers alike to provide food products from the national farms of vegetables and fruits. "Katara has achieved success in its initiative to support national products to contribute to the realization of the Qatar National Vision 2030, pointing out that cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment achieves a common goal to serve the local product and Qatari society.

Salman Al Naimi, Chairman of the organising committee of second Mahaseel Festival said that this festival characterized by the participation of a large number of Qatari farms, which offers varieties of the finest products at appropriate prices. 

Al-Naimi added that the festival is accompanied by a series of activities and events such as lectures on agriculture, bee keeping and healthy nutrition, which include how to store vegetables and fruits and planting gardens, and various competitions and workshops for children. Shopping and entertainment, as well as offering free services to the public.
