Pro-Kurdish Turkish politician says Ankara was "wrong" to down Russian warplane

MOSCOW: Turkey's political leadership was wrong to order the shooting down of a Russian warplane near the Turkish-Syrian border, Selahattin Demirtas, the leader of Turkey's opposition pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party said on Wednesday.

Demirtas made the statement during a meeting in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russian news agencies reported.
