Ezdan showcases iconic projects at Cityscape

Ezdan pavilion at Cityscape 2019, which showcased the real estate major’s several iconic projects, witnessed massive turnout of investors, visitors and a number of dignitaries, on the opening day of the event, yesterday.

H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry, accompanied by a number of dignitaries and officials, including Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive and Secretary-General of Qatar National Tourism Council, Akbar Al Baker, also visited the Ezdan Stand.

The top real estate expo showcased some of the most important projects of the Ezdan Group, including Ezdan Oasis mega project, which spreads over an area of one million square meters, and about the Group’s 5-Star Ezdan Palace Hotel mockup, and Ezdan Mall (3) Al Wukair’s mockup which features a distinctive design.

Ezdan Palace Hotel, the flagship property of Ezdan Hotel Company, will have a formal opening of the iconic property by the middle of next year, said a senior official of Ezdan Hotel, a subsidiary of the Group, yesterday.

Ideally located along Al Shamal Road (the North Road), Ezdan Palace is the brand new 5-Star hotel in Qatar. It’s a unique landmark in Doha offering the ultimate in luxury experience. The property, which is dubbed as Jewel of Ezdan Holding and the first 5-Star hotel addition to Ezdan Hotel portfolio with 195 rooms and suites, features a high level of service and a number of luxurious facilities, including restaurants, spa and other services.

The project, developed at with a total construction cost of nearly $100m (QR364m), is fully complete and has already started receiving guests. But due to the massive ongoing construction for an elevated inter-change on Al Shamal Road (near Landmark Mall), the hotel will be formally opened next year with the completion of the flyovers.

The company has showcased a scale model of the Ezdan Palace in the Ezdan Holding Group’s pavilion at the Cityscape Qatar 2019, which opened yesterday at DECC. “We opened the Ezdan Palace last year, but it is still in the pre-opening face. We are working closely with Ashghal (Public Works Authority) and we hope that the ongoing construction works on Al Shamal Road will end by the middle of 2020 and we will have a formal opening of Ezdan’s iconic property,” Wael El Telbany, General Manager, Ezdan Hotels, told The Peninsula.

Telbany added: “Ezdan Palace is strategically located, and several commercial establishments such as Gulf Mall, Ezdan Mall, Landmark Mall, are very close by, which is an added advantage.”

The hotel also boasts to have a very huge ballroom (1905 sqm), which is one of the biggest in Qatar. The ballroom has a dedicated private entrance, and has already hosted several social and corporate events.

Ezdan Hotels, the hospitality division of Ezdan Holding Group was established during the Asian Games in 2006, and since then the division has been growing steadily and today commanding a significant market share in the local hospitality sector. It hosted a record number of guests for the recently concluded two major sport events.

“We accommodated more than 2,000 guests in 1,300 rooms within 20 days during the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019. And within a week after that we accommodated and served the same number of guests for the recently concluded ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019.
