QNA

Doha: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has confirmed that the premarital screening service remains available at the designated health centres, alongside all the precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19.

PHCC has said that premarital screenings remain ongoing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but with precautionary measures to prevent the infection as well as the highest possible safety standards, as applicants are instructed by trained medical staff of family doctors and nurses on methods of prevention, in order to ensure continued provision of this service in health centers.

Director of Airport Health Center Dr. Maryam Al Jaber said that the service is available at the health centers of Al Khor, West Bay, Al Rayyan, Leabaib, Al Wajba and Omar Bin Al Khattab, in addition to the Airport Health Center, where visitors can book an appointment in any of the centres, regardless of whether they were registered at the chosen center or not, but both prospective spouses must examine at the same center on the same day.

Gharrafat Al Rayyan Health Center does not provide the service at the current time, considering that it is a temporary isolation center for COVID-19 cases. The premarital screening service is available for Qatari citizens as well as the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the designated health centers, while residents are to examine at private health sector institutions.
