DOHA: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, H E Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari, honoured the graduates of the 13th Sharia’h training course session for Qatari imams and preachers at a ceremony held last night at the headquarters of the Ministry.
The honouree were 18 Qatari imams and preachers who attended in the Sharia’h training course, held from March to May, covering a number of Sharia’h and linguistic courses, as well as memorising session of the Holy Quran.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mal Allah Al Jaber, Director of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, said that this training course is an extension of the series of courses for Qatari imams and preachers that started in 2005 and produced a constellation of imams and preachers who are honoured to carry the message of the prophets.
He added that this session is part of the Ministry’s plan to prepare the Qatari imams and provide them with the necessary Sharia’h sciences in order to perform this task, noting that the participants received lectures in jurisprudence, Tajweed, as well as a program on memorisation of the Holy Quran.
