Al Rayyan players and officials celebrate their win over Al Arabi in the final match of the Emir Cup volleyball at Qatar's Women's Sports Committee Hall during the presentation ceremony at Aspire Dome yesterday.
Al Rayyan won the Emir Cup volleyball final in emphatic fashion to pick up their first silverware of the season.
Yesterday at the Qatar’s Women’s Sports Committee Hall, Al Rayyan stormed to 3:0 (25-20, 25-15 and 36-34) win over the defending champions Al Arabi, who were aiming to win the title for the fourth consecutive year.
The final which was a repeat of the 2015 final which Al Arabi had won, but this time around Al Rayyan were able to turn around the result.
Al Arabi, which had picked up three titles having won the Qatar Cup, the Association Cup and the Super Cup had to settle for the second place. For coach Carlos Schwanke the win in the final against arch-rivals Al Arabi was the best way to wind up the season.
