Doha: Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari met with Minister of Health in the Afghan Caretaker H E Qalandar Ebad, who is visiting the country.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations in addition to the public health issues and challenges facing the Afghan people, especially polio.
The Minister of Public Health praised the progress made in the health system in Afghanistan in cooperation with the relevant international bodies, and stressed the importance of continuing cooperation between international organisations and Afghanistan to develop the health system, especially services and human resources, throughout the country.
The Afghan Health Minister lauded the State of Qatar’s important role in the development in his country calling for continued support from all partners for the development of health services provided to the Afghan people.
Representatives of World Health Organization (WHO), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Unicef attended the meeting.
