French President Emmanuel Macron’s political grouping is currently in the lead ahead of European elections in May.
Macron’s Republic on the Move and the center-right MoDem combined have 25 percent support, followed by rival Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally party with 19 percent, according to a BVA poll published on Saturday.
The poll also showed that if the Yellow Vests, who have been holding weekly protests against the government’s policies since mid-November, put up candidates for the European elections, they would receive 4 percent of the vote.
BVA surveyed 929 adults via Internet on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.
