The 14th edition of Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition brought this year’s visitors a rare opportunity to become a watchmaker-for-a-day with workshops from world-renowned specialists Objectif Horlogerie.
Established in Paris, Objectif Horlogerie’s ‘First Time’ watchmaking classes allow enthusiasts to experience the indescribable emotion of mastering time. Under the tuition of co-founders, Jean Yves Goldman and Samir Khemici, workshop attendees are observing and participating in the watchmaker’s rituals gaining an insight into the precision and complexity of watchmaking.
These informative workshops are proving to be extremely popular; classes have enjoyed full attendance, and all future classes are now fully booked! So far forty watch connoisseurs have enjoyed taking part in the classes and by the end of the exhibition, around hundred participants will have received their accredited diploma to mark this significant moment of time.
Jean Yves Goldman said, “I am extremely happy to introduce visitors of DJWE to the fascinating world of watchmaking. Participants are very eager to learn and left happy at their accomplishments. It is a great pleasure to pass on my enthusiasm to others at an esteemed event such as this.
He continued, “The organization of the event itself, the large space that we have been given within the venue, allow us to ensure that we deliver classes that everyone can enjoy. We are looking forward to welcoming more keen participants in the coming days.”
Objectif Horlogerie workshops reveals secret life of a timepiece before it reaches the windows of stores… the parts that ensure a smooth mechanical movement and time-honoured handcrafting that is inherent to each piece. They have hosted four to five complimentary watchmaking sessions per day, limited to four participants.
