The Board of Directors of the Qatar Press Centre held its second meeting recently. The meeting was chaired by Saleh Asfan Al Asfan Al Kuwari.
During the meeting, the financial regulations of the centre were approved as well the official headquarters of the centre. Its logo was also approved.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Majid Al Ansari, Vice-Chairman; Sadiq Mohammed Al Amari, Secretary-General, and Board Members, Dr. Rabia Sabah Al Kawari, Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Al Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Abdalghani, and Abdulla Hamad Athba General Director.
The centre was established as a private institution of public benefit in accordance with provisions of Law No 21 of 2006 regarding private foundations for the public benefit and its amendments with the aim of developing media and journalism and take care of the affairs of media professionals in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 that makes investment in human skills a priority.
The centre will be a media and journalism club. It will hold events, conduct research in media studies and establish partnerships with relevant authorities, centres and clubs worldwide. The first meeting of the centre was in December 2017.
