Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani presented the Founder’s Sword of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani to Sultan of Oman H M Haitham bin Tarik at the Amiri Diwan today reflecting the fraternal ties between the people of Qatar and Oman, and His Highness appreciation of HM the Sultan.
The Founder's Sword is the highest decoration in Qatar that are presented to kings, princes and heads of state.
His Majesty the Sultan also presented the Oman Civil Order of the First Class to His Highness the Amir, in appreciation of His Highness and an expression of the strength and relations between the Qatari and Omani peoples.
The Oman Civil Order of the First Class is one of the highest honors of Oman and is awarded to kings and heads of state whose countries have distinguished relations with the Sultanate of Oman and to dignitaries who enjoy the high esteem of His Majesty the Sultan.
The exchange of decorations was attended by H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Emir, H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Emir, H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers.
On the Omani side, it was attended by H H Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, and members of the accompanying official delegation.
