Qatar sailed past United Arab Emirates 31-23 yesterday to secure a third successive win at the Asian Handball Qualifiers for 2024 Paris Olympic Games. At the Duhail Handball Sports Hall, the hosts led 14-10 at half time and never relinquished the advantage. Qatar, who had earlier beaten China and India, top Group A with six points.
They next play against South Korea today, before concluding their group stage matches against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The winner of the event will qualify for the Paris Olympics, which will be held from July 25-August 11, 2024. Qatar is aiming to qualify for Olympics for the second time, after having done so at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.
