Marmara Restaurant closed for 60 days over tainted food 
DOHA: The Marmara Istanbul Restaurant in Frij Klaib has been closed for 60 days for “preparing food in unhealthy conditions”, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning said yesterday. More than 20 people were hospitalised since Friday, after taking food from the restaurant.  
The Ministry, as part of its recent decision to “name and shame” the erring outlets yesterday posted a picture of the restaurant on its website, along with the closure notice issued on Sunday. Some pictures showing the interior of the restaurant have also been on display. 
The Ministry, however, has not disclosed the source of food poisoning, which some victims had attributed to barbeque served by the restaurant on Friday.  Meanwhile, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, the Supreme Council of Health and other departments concerned have agreed to launch joint inspection campaigns on food outlets, beauty salons and other facilities.
