Kulluna has taken its health and safety campaign to the Moza bint Mohammed Independent Primary School for Girls. “We wanted to invite Kulluna to the school to highlight home safety hazards including falls, burns, drowning, being hit by cars in the driveway, choking and poisoning,” said Muneera Saifeldeen, Principal of the Primary School.
The Kulluna campaign is jointly organised by Hamad Medical Corporation (through HITC) and Conoco Phillips. The students were given a presentation on how to avoid home hazards especially in the kitchen and how to respond when accidents happen and team members demonstrated how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), simulating an emergency where a person has a heart attack and loses consciousness.
Dr Khalid Abdulnoor, Director of Hamad International Training Center (HITC) and Chairman of the Kulluna campaign, said the drive’s current focus is raising awareness on the dangers children may encounter inside their homes, and aim to inform people on how to avoid these dangers and to create a safe and healthy environment.
“We encourage children to play the role of health educators and help inform their schoolmates, friends and families on how to avoid home hazards,” he said, adding that Kulluna welcomes all invitations from schools to educate children on how to avoid hazards.
The event was hosted under the patronage of Sheikha Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Operator of Moza bint Mohammed Independent School for Girls. Dr Aisha Al Darhem, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the primary school, attended the opening ceremony and officially welcomed Kulluna campaign to the school. The Peninsula
