DOHA: The state has taken a number of property owners and middlemen to court for renting homes located in residential areas to large numbers of single workers.
The Public Prosecution, acting on complaints filed by residents, filed charges against the owners and middlemen for violating a law that bans labour camps from residential localities. The large homes, according to complainants, were partitioned and given away to single workers who turned them into camp-like accommodations.
