Roundtable discusses changes to statute of global organisation

QATAR-BASED Regional Office of Asia Pacific Forum (APF) yesterday organised a high level roundtable meeting in cooperation with Qatar National Human Right Committee (QNHRC) to discuss the proposed amendments on statute of the Global Alliance of National Institutions.
The meeting held at the sidelines of the “International Conference on Human Rights Approach to Conflict Situations in the Arab Region” was attended members of APF from the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).
The meeting discussed a number of important issues related to amendments on the statute of GANHRI besides rule and procedures governing the internal system of the accreditation committee of the alliance said the Chairman of the QNHRC, Dr. Ali bin Sumaikh Al Marri.
Suggestion and recommendation of this meeting are going to be considered during a meeting of the alliance in March in Geneva, Al Marri added.
For his part the Special Representative of the Global Alliance President, Alan Miller said the meeting was excellent opportunity to enhance relations with representatives from Asian member counties. He added “we respect the efforts made by the forum to strengthening these ties”.
