Doha: Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), is organising entertainment activities during Chi Al Shaqab 2016 from March 2 to 5.
The competition is sponsored by ExxonMobil and will see riders from the region and across the world compete for a total prize money of QR5m.
Al Shaqab Chief Executive Fahd Al Qahtani said the competition enhances equestrian in Qatar and worldwide and helps preserve the stature of Arabian horses.
Activities include pony and horse carriage rides, gaming area, race simulators, falcons on display, henna stands and others. Al Shaqab was founded in 1992 to preserve and develop Arabian horses and in 2004, became a member of QF.
Doha: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in collaboration with United Cars Almana, dealer of Jeep vehicles in Qatar, has announced the recall of Jeep Wrangler 2006 models over a defect in the ignition clutch interlock switch.
The ministry said the recall is within the framework of its efforts to protect consumers and ensure that dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
The ministry said it will coordinate with the dealer to follow up on maintenance and repairs and communicate with customers to ensure necessary repairs are carried out.
