ACCRA: Expectations are running high among Ghanaian football fans ahead of the national team's Group B clash against Mozambique at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d'Ivoire.
The fans believe that the Black Stars, four-time AFCON champions, has the strength to make it to the next level of the competition despite only picking up one point from their first two group games.
"I can confidently predict that from the body language of the players, they want to fight hard for their country. The 2-2 draw with Egypt was unfortunate, and I expect they will win convincingly against Mozambique on Monday," said Ibrahim Seidu, a 32-year-old driver.
Ellen Gyapong, a die-hard fan of the Black Stars, emphasized that everyone will see the best from the Ghanaians.
"We have quality players in camp, and I would like to appeal to the coach to select the best to ensure they score two early goals to unsettle their opponents.
If they can do that, we shall win with more goals to ensure our qualification to the next stage," she added.
Having won the AFCON title in 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982, Ghana is chasing a fifth trophy which has eluded the country for over four decades.
The Black Stars lost 2-1 to Cape Verde before drawing 2-2 with Egypt. Both Ghana and Mozambique have one point each, ahead of their clash which is expected to be tense and crucial.
