QSE index closes at 10,412.51 points

Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 43.63 points, or 0.42 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,412.51 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 117.24 percent to reach QR1.89bn compared to QR871.72m.

Trading volume increased by 208.21 percent to reach 96.08 million shares, as against 31.17 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 261.99 percent, to reach 66,457 transactions as compared to 18,359 transactions.

Market cap rose by 0.74 percent to reach QR593.97bn as compared to QR589.62bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.

Industries sector led traded value last week with 58.89 percent of the total traded value. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 26.36 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 5.83 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 2.96 percent.

Industries sector led traded volume last week with 75.8 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 10.87 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 6.29 percent and Telecoms sector accounted 2.95 percent.

Industries sector led traded number of transactions last week with 80.55 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 8.77 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 4.19 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 1.99 percent.

From the 46 listed companies 13 ended last week higher, while 32 fell and one remained unchanged.

Qatar Aluminum led traded value during last week accounted for 48.1 percent of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 12.75 percent and Industries Qatar accounted for 4.64 percent.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 83.89 points, 0.80 percent, compared to Wednesday’s closing.

The volume of shares traded increased to 27.23 million from 20.28 million on Wednesday and the value of shares also increased to QR664.96m from QR378.03m on Wednesday.

From the 48 companies listed on QSE, shares of 46 saw trading yesterday. From these, nine companies gained, 35 closed lower and two remained unchanged.

Indices of all sector ended in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index decreased 0.80 percent to 18,345.69 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index down 0.75 percent to 3,911.15 points. QSE All Share Index lost 0.96 percent to 3,100.01 points.
