A good IR can encourage new investors, build third party support and strengthen good will, said Andreas Goldau (pictured), Director-Investor Relations, Ooredoo.
Sharing Ooredoo’s IR experience at the 8th annual investor relations conference, Goldau said: “We talk to sell side analysts and buy side analysts; fund managers, retail investors, bond holders and rating agencies. As an IR team, we explain company’s equity story to achieve a fair valuation and reduce funding cost.”
Good IR will ensure proper value is reflected in the share price and rating and encourage ongoing investment will help management understand investment perspective, he said.
The investment relations team can help develop balanced view of company’s project, identify issues of concern alert management and assist in the formulation of strategy. The team will ensure management awareness of disclosure requirements to achieve a fair valuation. Ooredoo meets with over 100 investors per year.
Goldau said Ooredoo is listed in 8 stock exchanges and is operating in 10 key markets, with more than a dozen sell side analysts. With almost 4,000 shareholders and over 320 million shares, Ooredoo’s market cap stands at QR28bn. Ooredoo’s seven investor relations teams are operating across the world.
