Cabinet discusses guidelines for electricals

Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani presided over the Cabinet meeting at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.

Following the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud stated the following.

The Cabinet reviewed the following items and took the appropriate decisions: 1. The rules, terms and specifications which Qatar General Electricity and Water applies concerning the electrical apparatus and items used in the design and implementation stages of buildings and installations.

2. The letter of the Minister of Transport concerning the special report on the outcomes of the national committee on civil aviation security related activities on 1-2 to 31-07, 2013.

The meeting approved a draft agreement on avoidance of double  taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion related to income tax and the attached protocol signed between the governments of Qatar and Spain.

A draft agreement on cooperation in education, higher education and scientific research between the governments of Qatar and Grenada was also approved.

The meeting ratified a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in education, higher education and scientific research between the governments of Qatar and the Republic of Peru. An agreement on economic, trade and technical cooperation between the governments of Qatar and Ecuador and an MoU between the Foreign Ministry of Qatar and its counterpart in Ecuador were ratified

The Cabinet approved talks in air transport sector with the civil aviation authorities of some countries.
