New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met on Monday with US National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa H E Brett McGurk, on the sidelines on the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting viewed bilateral relations and security cooperation, in addition to reviewing developments in Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, the latest developments of negotiations on the nuclear deal, and a number of issues. It also dealt with preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The American official thanked Qatar for its help in the release of an American citizen, kidnapped in Afghanistan in 2020.
