Doha: The AMU Alumni Association Qatar and Toastmasters International recently organised a free medical camp as part of India@75 (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) in association with Reyada Medical Centre.
The event was aimed to help expatriate labour work force. Apart from doctors’ consultation, blood tests, ECG and eye check-ups were done free of cost for the participants. Approximately 200 patients benefited from the health camp which continued from early morning till late in the afternoon. Many patients who turned up for the checkup were very satisfied with service they received.
The expatriates workers, families and kids were offered free general consultation and other consultations by general physician, blood tests, ECG, family medicine, gynaecology, paediatric, ophthalmology, dental check-up, blood pressure, blood sugar and BMI checks by the team of dedicated doctors and medical professionals.
Ambassador of India to Qatar, H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, inaugurated the camp and commended AMU Alumni Association Qatar and Reyada for their service to the society.
He said the entire nation and wider expatriate Indian community is celebrating the important milestone of 75th anniversary of India’s Independence in the form of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and wished happy Independence Day to all.
Dr. Nadeem Jilani, President of AMU Alumni Association Qatar, thanked the Ambassador for his inspiring presence and outlined various social activities conducted by his team this year, including a mega blood donation drive on World Blood Donor Day. He also thank Hamza and entire Reyada team along with volunteers and executive members of AMUAAQ team.
Later, an AMU-Reyada Med Card was also unveiled in presence of Dr. Nadeem Jilani, Jamsheer Hamza, Jawed Ahmad (Chairman AMU Alumni Association Qatar), Dr. Syed Intekhab Alam, and Dr. Sikndar. This card will give the holder up to 25 percent discount on a range of services at Reyada.
Jamsheer Hamza, Managing Director of Reyada Healthcare, in his address, said, “We are honoured to have Dr. Deepak Mittal inaugurate this free medical camp. Initiatives like these are in line with Reyada Medical Centre’s vision and mission to provide accessible, affordable and quality health care.”
