Doha: As part of their cultural immersion in Qatar, a group of teachers from the Republic of Tatarstan-Russia, in a course about Arabic language pedagogy for non-native speakers, participated in a rich program organized by the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre.
The program included visits to several departments within the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, as well as cultural and recreational activities designed to deepen their understanding of Qatari heritage and Islamic culture.
The teachers were introduced to the wide-ranging services and facilities offered by the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre.
They commended the centre’s efforts in fostering cultural exchange and promoting knowledge of Islam and Qatari culture.
Among their stops was a visit to the Islamic Network (Islamweb), where they learned about the platform’s role in disseminating Islamic knowledge and values globally.
The teachers expressed their admiration for the platform’s professionalism and its success in reaching audiences around the world.
To further explore Qatari culture, the teachers visited the Museum of Islamic Art, where they viewed exquisite pieces of Islamic heritage.
The program also included a trip to Al Shahaniya camel racing track, where teachers learned about Qatar’s deep-rooted traditions surrounding camels and their symbolic and cultural significance.
Rounding off the experience, the teachers were welcomed into a traditional Qatari majlis, where the host introduced them to the customs of Qatari hospitality and the social values embedded within it.
The program concluded with a recreational visit to a local farm, offering teachers an authentic glimpse into rural Qatari life.
