Mercury, the nearest planet of the Sun, will be at inferior conjunction with Sun where it will pass in between the Sun and Earth today at 3:30pm, Qatar Calendar House (QCH) announced.

Dr. Beshir Marzouk, astronomer expert at QCH, said that during the inferior conjunction, the centre of three celestial objects (Sun, Earth, and Mercury) will be aligned on a straight line, moreover, Mercury will be in between Sun and Earth, and it will pass very close to the Sun so it will be impossible to observe Mercury today.

He added that the residents of Qatar and Arab regions countries will be able to observe Mercury over eastern horizon from pure places (without light and environment pollutions) during second week of August.
