Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday led well-wishers to welcome the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his delegation who arrived on a fraternal short visit, at Doha International Airport.
Several Ministers, senior officials and UAE Ambassador to Qatar Saleh bin Mohammad Al Ameri were present.
The Emir and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed held a meeting at Al Bahr Palace.
Sheikh Mohammed conveyed the greetings of UAE President H H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Emir and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the Qatari people. The Emir entrusted Sheikh Mohammed to convey his wishes of continued good health and happiness to the UAE President and more progress and prosperity to the brotherly people of the UAE.
Talks dealt with the fraternal relations between both countries and ways to advance them in various fields, particularly strengthening the bonds of cooperation within the framework of the GCC joint action to ensure further progress, security and stability for the peoples of the bloc.
Both sides also reviewed the latest regional and international developments and issues of common concern. Several Ministers and the UAE delegation, including National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and other members.
The Emir hosted a luncheon banquet at Al Bahr Palace in honour of Sheikh Mohammed and his delegation. Later, the Emir led well-wishers to see off Sheikh Mohammed and his delegation upon their departure. Several Ministers and the UAE Ambassador to Qatar were also present.
