ISLAMABAD: There is a peak that stands above the rest on each of the seven continents and scaling all the seven summits is regarded as one of the world’s biggest mountaineering achievements.
The jubilant and committed Samina Khayal Baig, the first Pakistani women who recently scaled the world’s highest mountain Mount Everest, has now set her eyes at mountaineering challenge of conquering seven summits.
“I’m extremely anxious to accomplish this task on behalf of my country and all the women who live here. My experience to ascend Mount Everest has taught me that if you have the will and focus, you can achieve what you want,” she said.
She said that she could not describe her feelings when she hoisted national flag atop Mount Everest.
“I just felt proud to have accomplished that feat for my country,” she remarked.
The 21-year old from a small town of Shimshal Hunza Valley said that the love and warmth, which she got on her return from the world’s highest peak had encouraged her to mount the seven summits.
