Brussels: Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari met yesterday in Brussels with H E Anna-Maria Boura, who serves as Chief Foreign Policy Advisor of the European Council President. The two sides discussed regional developments, particularly in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, Syria, the latest updates on the Russia-Ukraine crisis, and ongoing negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Both sides emphasised the importance of coordinating positions on regional and international issues of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Qatar to the European Union and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) H E Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki.
Al Ansari also met in Brussels on Monday with European Union Special Representative for the Gulf Region H E Luigi Di Maio.
They discussed cooperation relations between Qatar and the European Union. They also discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, Syria, Yemen, the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, and the talks between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The EU Special Representative for the Gulf Region thanked Qatar for its efforts in reuniting children with their families, as part of its ongoing mediation efforts aimed at reuniting families separated by the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Al Ansari also met in Brussels on Monday with Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS) H E Olof Skoog.
They discussed cooperation between Qatar and the EU. They also discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, Yemen, Syria, and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari also met with Deputy Director General for the Middle East, North Africa, and Gulf at the European Commission H E Michael Karnitschnig.
