MCIT holds series of webinars on eCommerce

Doha: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) held a series of webinars on eCommerce that address the fundamentals of eCommerce and answer the frequently asked questions by eCommerce businesses. Furthermore, MCIT held several panel discussions that featured Small and Medium Enterprises owners such as Mersal, Jazp, City Centre Electronic Services, and Buono, who shared their success stories in eCommerce in Qatar.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has so far organized seven webinars in both Arabic and English from the series of eCommerce webinars. The first webinar was titled “Activate Your Store’s eCommerce Channel: Guidelines Towards Success,” the second was titled “Activating Your Online Store with MCIT eCommerce Guidelines,” the third was titled “Your Key to a Trustworthy eCommerce Website THEQA Trustmark”. In addition, a webinar was held on 13th March in English entitled “Unleash Your eStore: Learn How to Enhance Your Business.”

The total number of attendees in the previous eCommerce seminars organized by the Ministry in both Arabic and English has so far reached 1374 participants. The webinars were delivered in the presence of a group of speakers with more than 15 years of experience in the fields of digital development and eCommerce and shared their experiences and knowledge with the attendees and answered their questions about eCommerce and the “Theqa” program. 

Moreover, the speakers explained to attendees how to activate and develop their online stores, eCommerce channels, and ways to enhance their digital presence by following the eCommerce guidelines from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The eCommerce team in the ministry also offered advisory services to the public during the webinars. The provision of such services to the interested parties in both languages, Arabic and English, allows beginners in the field of eCommerce and innovators to benefit from the free advisory services and guide them towards success in the world of eCommerce.

The webinars highlighted the importance of the 'Theqa' program to e-traders and online shoppers, and its benefits in promoting the growth of eCommerce, raising credibility and trust in the Qatar E-market, besides, familiarizing the attendees with the principal objectives of the 'Theqa' program and how to register for the first national Trustmark of eCommerce in Qatar.

Finally, the Digital Industry development department at MCIT invites the public, owners of medium and small enterprises, and eCommerce merchants who wish to get more information about eCommerce and the “Theqa” Trustmark to visit Qatar’s eCommerce portal, and the “Theqa” website. .
