Doha: The Ministry of Public Health revealed that laboratory test results of samples from the fresh grapes originating from Peru, which were withdrawn from the market, showed their safety and compliance with the requirements of the approved standards, including the results of pesticide residue analysis.

The Ministry had earlier withdrawn the grapes of Peru origin from the outlets in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, following an international notification of possible contamination with pesticide residues. Other precautionary measures have also been taken.

The Ministry of Public Health said the grapes comply with the standards of the market. The Ministry also said it is keen to ensure the safety standards of food, in cooperation with all related entities.
