DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning will soon implement a unified mechanism to monitor encroachments of public properties.
The heads of the monitoring sections of all municipalities met yesterday seeking consensus on the proposed mechanism, the Qatar News Agency reported yesterday.
As per the new system, a legal notice will be served to the violators asking them to report at the municipality within 24 hours after the violation was detected. A notice will be prepared listing in detail the type of the violation. A warning will be issued to the violators to remove the encroachments.
If the error is rectified within the given time, the issue will be settled. Otherwise, a decision will be issued by the director of the municipality to forcefully remove the encroachment.
