DOHA: Qatar will play Egypt in a friendly match on December 28, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) said yesterday.
Qatar are preparing for next month’s Gulf Cup that will be held from January 5 to 18 in Manama, Bahrain.
The match will take place at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium, Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing, QFA, said yesterday.
The match tickets will go on sale on December 20, Al Kuwari said.
“Fans can get buy tickets at Landmark Mall and Souq Waqif,” Al Kuwari said in an interview to QFA website.
Each ticket will be available for QR 30, he added.
“I am confident football fans will turn up in large numbers for the friendly,” he said.
The kick-off time has been set for 7:30pm, Al Kuwari said.
The Egypt squad will arrive in Doha on December 26.
Qatar are coached by Paulo Autuori who announced his squad of 35 players for the Gulf Cup last week.
The Brazilian coach will trim the squad to 22 closer to the event.
The Gulf Cup is the 21st edition of the competition.
Besides Bahrain and Qatar, Kuwait (the current holders), Iraq, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and UAE will compete.
The 2010 edition was held in Yemen, in which Qatar had also qualified for the competition.
In that competition, Qatar went out in the group stage.
