A special workshop on career counselling was organised at Pakistan International School Doha (PISQ)  for students of class XII recently.

The workshop was conducted by Mariam Lachin, Associate Director of Admissions at Georgetown University Qatar.  She works closely with local high schools to recruit and counsel prospective and admitted students.

Mariam also coordinates campus programmes, including annual yield events and admissions workshops, in topics covering personal statement writing and college interviews.

During the workshop, Mariam used a powerpoint presentation to highlight the benefits of education abroad. She also explained the current scenario of student exchange programmes and employment opportunities. She explained the admission process at Georgetown University and suggested that the best place for availing these opportunities is Georgetown University, Doha Qatar.

Mariam further highlighted the pros of studying at Georgetown University. She guided the students through the application and decision-making process.

Mariam informed the students about the procedures and formalities required to get into Georgetown University including various entrance examinations. At the end, the students participated enthusiastically in the question-answer session. This was an extremely enriching experience and the students who attended this workshop wished to be a part of such workshops in the future as well. We are sure students feel they can ‘stay ahead of the curve’ with opportunities such as these to enlighten them.
