DOHA: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his thanks and appreciation to President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic for warm welcome, expressing his happiness at visiting the Republic of Croatia and holding the third meeting this year. H H the Amir also praised the President important visit to Qatar last year.
During joint press statements with the President after the official talks in the Presidential Palace in Zagreb, H H the Amir said that the Qatari-Croatian relations are strong and should be developed to a wider perspective in light of the regional challenges in the world, stressing the importance of continuous coordination between the officials of the two countries. In this regard, H H the Amir pointed out that the talks focused on a number of important areas, including energy, sports and tourism.
H H the Amir also welcomed the Croatian community and companies in the State of Qatar. H H the Amir also praised Croatian team’s achievements in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, wishing that they qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup and make more achievements.
H H the Amir thanked the Croatian President for her country’s contribution of a series of valuable books to the Qatar National Library.
The President of the Republic of Croatia welcomed H H the Amir and the accompanying delegation in Croatia, referring to her visit to the State of Qatar in 2017 and the exchange of views during that visit, stressing the importance of H H the Amir’s visit to Croatia, which will further develop the excellent bilateral relations.
The President noted the importance of the Croatian community in Qatar, which represents a bridge for relations between the two countries, praising the signing of agreements that would enhance cooperation between the two sides. The President added that she was optimist about this future cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy, industries, defence, technology and tourism.
The President of Croatia congratulated the Qatari people on the launch of the Qatar National Library last April, saying that she was pleased to present a collection of books on Croatian culture and heritage to be included in the library collections. She also referred to the Croatian team’s achievements in the recent World Cup in Russia, while looking forward to the 2022 Qatar World Cup and expressing her confidence in the wonderful organisation of the World Cup in the State of Qatar and wishing that her country team make more achievements in the tournament.
