Ramallah: Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Sunday upon the international community and the United Nations organizations, on top of which the UNESCO, to provide protection to the Palestinian academic institutions, WAFA news agency reported.

This came after Israeli forces last night raided the campus of al-Quds University in Abu Dis town, east of Jerusalem, where they attacked and ransacked a book store organized by the students' of the university.

The attack came only one day after Israeli troops raided the campus of Palestine Technical University (Kadoorie) in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm. The troops smashed the gates of the campus and stole electronic materials and archives from the university.
