Qatar participates in Interpol General Assembly meeting

New Delhi: Qatar is participating in the 90th General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), being held in New Delhi, India, from October 18 to 21, in the presence of Indian Prime H E Minister Narendra Modi, and with the participation of delegations from Interpol’s 195 member countries.

The delegations include interior ministers, police chiefs, heads of national central offices, and a number of senior officers of member states.

Project Stadia, implemented by Interpol with the support of Qatar, was praised by the General Assembly because the project plays an important role in securing major events worldwide.

Director of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Interior Major General Khalifa Nasr Al Nasr is leading Qatar's delegation at the meeting. In his speech, he highlighted Qatar’s constructive and fruitful cooperation with Interpol and its role in combating international crime and the stadia project in organising the safest FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

He also discussed Qatar’s preparations for the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 next month.
