The World Teachers Day was celebrated in the Doha Modern Indian School recently with a wide variety of literary activities.
The Department of English coordinated the activities conducted for Grade 3 to 11 in the classrooms. Students of the Primary section made colourful greeting cards paying tribute to their teachers while Grades 6 to 11 wrote poems and essays and designed posters.
The topic given for versification was ‘The Ideal Teacher’ and essays were written on the topic ‘Teachers are nation builders’. Posters were made on the theme “A Teacher is a Candle burning unto itself, giving light to the World.’ Students poured out their thoughts and ideas about teachers and the cards and posters were displayed on the bulletin boards.
The divergent skills of students were encouraged through these activities and it gave them an opportunity to express their warm feelings and gratitude for their teachers.
